ARCHIVING BLACK LESBIAN MASCULINITIES
with the Lesbian Herstory Archives
→ Thursday, July 16, 5 – 9PM
Join us for an afternoon engaging with the Lesbian Herstory Archives’ collection, discussing and celebrating perspectives on Black Lesbian masculinities, and archiving our own histories. This event is for the studs, butches, mascs and those who love them!
This Black Lesbian-centered event will allow participants the opportunity to tour Company Gallery’s current exhibitions, In the Life by Aya Brown and roach+world by Taeer M., learn about the objects from the Lesbian Herstory Archives between the two exhibitions, and have the opportunity to record and donate their own oral histories to LHA.
We hope participants leave with a new friend or two, appreciation for the Lesbian art currently showcased, greater familiarity with LHA’s collections, and an even deeper love for our unique identities.
