Tobias Bradford
Tobias Bradford’s uncanny bodily sculptures speak to the delicate nature of the human psyche. Animated with rudimentary mechanics, Bradford’s works display the repetitive actions characteristic of compulsive behavior.Disembodied limbs tremble, tap, quiver and rock with absurd and frenzied energy, challenging our notions of agency and the equivocal relationship between mind, body, and the limitations of technology.
His 2024 exhibitions include As my eyes adjust at Company Gallery, New York, and Cold air on tender skin at Örebro Konsthall, Sweden. Previous solo shows include Big Hole at Saskia Neuman Gallery, Stockholm (2022), the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Award Exhibition at Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm (2021), and Stage Fright at Huxley-Parlour, London (2021). Bradford graduated from Goldsmiths University of London in 2019, and is currently on a break from his Masters at the Royal Art Institute of Stockholm. He has exhibited widely across Stockholm, Sweden, and London, UK.
